Christ: of Sorrows -- Christ, crossed nimbus, with crown of thorns, wearing shroud and short loincloth, stands, His hands crossed and bound. Scroll next to Him is inscribed ECCE HOMO. He is flanked by two men, one wearing knotted sash around helmet (?) and armor, holding mace (?) with right hand, possibly grasping edge of the shroud with left hand. The other man wearing pointed hat, with purse at waist, holds rod with right hand and the shroud with left hand. Two other men stand at right. In background are Instruments of Passion including withes, sponge on reed, ladder, scimitar, tau cross with titulus INRI, cock (rooster) on column entwined with rope, hammer, spear and three nails.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament inhabited by bird. Four scrolls inscribed POPULE ME(US) QUID FECI TIBI QUOD FACTA ES MICHI TAM AMARA; UIDETE ET ASPICITE SI EST DOLOR SICUD DOLOR MEUS. TRENOR NUX (?) (Lamentations 1:12, variant); QUID DEBUI FACERE ET NON FECI TIBI PARASTI CRUCE(M) SALUATOR(IS) TUO; IPSE AUTEM ULNERATUS EST P(RO)PTER INIQUITATES NOSTRAS (Isaiah 53:5).
