Miniature:
Adrian of Nicomedia: Martyrdom -- Within room, Adrian of Nicomedia, nimbed, wearing loincloth, entrails falling out, is seated on anvil surmounting tree stump. Man, standing behind, supports him. Two executioners, flanking him, strike legs with axes.
In background, several figures look on including emperor, supporting himself with staff, and Natalia of Nicomedia, joined hands at breast.

Jailor, wearing keys and sword at belt, holding staff in left hand, stands before door of prison in which are saints, nimbed.
