Christ: Pietáa -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, is seated holding on her lap body of Christ, cross projecting nimbus, with crown of thorns, wearing short loin cloth, His bleeding wounds visible. They are flanked by Evangelist John, nimbed, with joined hands, and by three (third only partially visible) Holy Women, nimbed, two holding coverd jars. Behind Virgin Mary is cross, surmounted by titulus INRI, with two nail holes visible in cross arms. Flanking cross above are two gold globes with rays, possibly representing sun and moon. Scene in landscape with hills, city or buildings in background.
Margins decorated with floreate ornament including strawberry, and inhabited by two rabbits. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Pierre de Bosredont (quarterly, vair and gules).
