Initial L:
Animal mask, within initial L decorated with foliate ornament.
Beginning of Prologue to Esther.
Initial D:
Bird standing on foliate extension of initial D decorated with hybrid animal, tail forming foliate ornament.
Beginning of Capitula of Esther.
Initial I composed of 4 registers in which are:
1)Haman: hanged -- Haman, wearing long loin cloth, hangs from rope wrapped around bar.
2) Ahasueras, crowned, points upward with right hand.
3) Esther, wearing crown, holding book in right hand, points upward with left hand.
4) Lower register decorated with winged hybrid animal, tail forming foliate ornament. Second winged hybrid at base of initial I, tail forming marginal extender.
Beginning of Esther.
