Upper half: Magi: Adoration -- At left, beneath Star of Bethlehem, Virgin Mary, veiled, seated on chair, with both hands supporting nude Christ Child, both nimbed, He is lowering His right hand into goblet in extended hands of eldest Magus, partly kneeling, he is accomapnied by youngest, beardless Magus and middle-aged Magus, both crowned, both with right hands holding vessels, and with left hands gesturing. At far right, stands Joseph the Carpenter, wearing hat, with purse tied to belt. From chapter 2 of Matthew. Christ: Circumcision -- At right, Virgin Mary, veiled with wimple, supporting on her lap nude Christ Child, both nimbed, He extends His left hand toward knife held in right hand of Mohel, wearing hat, partly kneeling, accompanied by group of seven. including one veiled woman, some gesturing of with joined hands raised (four with only heads visible). Lower half: Christ: Presentation -- At left, Simeon, inscribed SYMEON, mitered, extending draped hands toward Christ Child, nimbed, nude, sitting on altar and turning back toward Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled with wimple, her hands partly supporting Him. At far right, among three nimbed women (one with only nimbi visible), possibly including Prophetess Anna, two holding lit tapered candles, and the foremost with right hand raised and with left hand cradling three birds.
