Zone 1:
1) Saul: communicating with God -- Saul, crowned, wearing vair-lined mantle, looks up, with raised hands. He is flanked by ten Israelites, some looking up, all with hands raised. Illustration of I Samuel 14:37.
2) Saul: Jonathan taken by Lot -- Saul, crowned, with sword in raised right hand, grasps Jonathan pulled away by two of eight Israelites, some with hands raised. Illustration of I Samuel 14:44-45.
Zone 2:
1) Saul: Battle against Amalekites -- Saul, crowned, in mail, wearing visor, mounted on caparisoned horse, armed with heraldic shield (or a lion rampant sable) and lance, unseats crowned Agag, in mail, from horse. In background, Israelites and Amalekites, in mail, mounted, in combat, armed with swords, shield, and mace; some are fallen. Illustration of I Samuel 15:7-8.
2) Saul: sparing Agag -- To right, Agag, crowned, mounted, in mail, with hands tied, and three Amalekite solidiers, with ropes about necks, are led by mounted Israelite.
