Scene, Liturgical: Procession -- Procession includes bishops, soldiers and other clergy, many carrying torches, candles or lanterns. Others looking on include men, soldiers. Horse and covered wagon are at right next to bridge at the entrance to Castel Sant' Angelo, with high walls, crenellated towers. Guns fire from ramparts. Square tower at top is surmounted by statue, possibly angel, and banner. At lower right in water, is structure, possibly mill or water pump. Overhead, among clouds, fly winged putti, many holding flowers, two with baskets (?) of flowers. At top on cloud, Virgin Mary, veiled, kneels, looking downward. She is flanked by group of putti and by female saints, one as nun, all with joined hands raised.
