Divina Commedia, Purgatorio: Scene, Arrival in Ante-Purgatory -- Two scenes:
1) Dante, wearing hat, kneels with hands crossed on his breast beside Virgil. Before them stands soul of Cato, as old man with long beard, wearing underdrawers.
2) Virgil, at base of hill or cliff, carries on his back Dante, wearing hat, with arms outstretched.
