Mattathias: slaying Jew -- Mattathias, holding raised sword in right hand, places left hand on head of Jew, kneeling, holding platter in which is boar's head. Above, head of Christ-Logos, cross-nimbed, emerges from cloud-edged arc of Heaven. Scene has background of blue diaper and burnished gold within frame of pink and blue decorated with geometric ornament.
