Three escutcheons: 1) At center, escutcheon of Pope Clement VII -- Heraldry of checky, or and azure, surmounted by triple-crowned papal tiara with infulae. Escutcheon flanked by two banners, each with crossed keys chained together. 2) At left, escutcheon of François de Conzie -- Heraldry of azure, in chief or with half figure of lion rampant gules, against cross-staff (only top visible). 3) At right, escutcheon of Pierre de Vernolis -- Heraldry of gules, a castle argent and boar sable, against crozier (only top visible). Margins decorated with bezants and scrolling foliage entwined around bar border, some foliage terminating in heads of long-beaked fantastic animals.
