Angel, Archangel Michael: Scene, Apparition at Monte Gargano -- Within initial L, Archangel Michael, nimbed, wearing armor, holding raised sword with right hand, and scales with left hand stands before portal of domed building surmounted by domed cupola. Dove of Holy Ghost, nimbed, wings outstretched, hovers amid rays in lunette above the doorway, that is flanked by two windows and two columns. Above are two confronted fish on roof ledge, decorated with garlands and hanging foliage.
Initial decorated with foliate ornament, on gold ground.
