Miniature:
Christ: Flagellation -- Christ, decorated crossed nimbus, wearing crown of thorns, covered with wounds, is bound with hands behind to column supporting vaulted ceiling of vaulted room. Tormentor is at His feet, binding them to column. He is flanked by two tormentors, with swords in scabbards at waists, holding scourges. In background behind stone wall, crowd, including Pilate, seated and holding staff, looks on through arches on top of wall. Scene within architectural setting.
Margins:
Decorative borders composed of naturalistic foliate design of tendrils and flowering plants, including asters.
