Solomon: crowned King -- David, as old man, wearing cap, in canopied bed beneath covers, with left hand helps to place crown on head of Solomon, kneeling with joined hands raised beside the bed. Behind Solomon stand Nathan, wearing high priest's hat, gesturing with right hand, and another man, possibly Sadoc or Benaiah, holding crown in both hands. On opposite side of bed stands woman, possibly Bathsheba or Abishag, with joined hands raised, and a third man, possibly Sadoc or Benaiah. Scene in room with ornately carved bed and leaded glass window with painted oval pane depicting figure.
Miniature enclosed in architectural frame composed of columns and other classical elements.
