1) Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, Vision of Priest -- Christ, cross-nimbed, emerges from cloudy arc of heaven, holding scroll in left hand and extending right hand toward tonsured priest raising hands and lying on draped bed with pillow, inside building. To right, man, wearing cap, stirs with rod in one of two kettles on flames in fireplace from which fishes are suspended. At left, building on hill, and oak tree.

2) Benedict of Montecassino: Scene, Priest arriving with Food -- Tonsured priest, holding kettle in right hand and staff with hanging keg, vessels, and food, stands before Benedict, nimbed, tonsured, in monk's habit, raising hands, seated in mouth of cave; three trees, including oak.
