Shepherds: Annunciation -- Shepherd, wearing hat, kneels on one knee, holding staff with right hand, shielding eyes with left hand; another semi-reclines, leaning on left elbow on rock, shielding eyes with right hand; the third, holding bagpipe, kneels on one knee. All look up toward half figure of angel on cloud, holding with both hands, scroll inscribed GLORIA EX[CELSIS]. Sheep are in background.

Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including daisy, strawberry and viola, and inhabited by snail, fantastic animal, putto seated on back of large bridled bird, holding reins with left hand, and putto standing on and grasping foliage.
