John Baptist, decorated nimbus, wearing garment of animal skin with head, indicates with right hand Lamb of God, cross projecting nimbus, lying on book held with his left hand. Kneeling before him is donor, Pierre de Bosredont with joined hands, sword at his waist, helmet and gauntlet on floor beside him. Figures in windowed room surrounded by three inscribed tapestries: 1) ELIZABETH ... ET MULTUM; 2) INTER NATOS MULIERUM NON SURREXIT MAIOR IOHANNE BAPTISTA FUIT HOMO MISSUS A DEO CUI NOMEN ERAT IOHANNES (from versicle and response of Suffrage based on John 01:06); 3) ZACHARIA ... NATIVITA[...]
Border inscribed PIERRE DE BOSREDONT and DI CHOSSON DE NIBORO. Margins decorated with floreate ornament inhabited by squirrel (?), bird and by two rabbits flanking shields. In left margin, monogram of initials A and P linked by love knot. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Hospitallers (gules, a cross argent) and heraldic shield of Pierre de Bosredont (quarterly, vair and gules).
