Maccabees: Letter from Jews -- King, crowned, is seated on bench, holding floreate scepter in left hand and extending right hand toward letter held in right hand of man, probably messenger, holding spear in left hand. Scene is below tri-lobed arches with background of pink and blue diaper within frame of pink and blue decorated with geometric ornament.
Beginning of II Maccabees.
