Christ: before Pilate -- In initial D, Christ, cross-nimbed, hands crossed and bound, is surrounded by three soldiers, one holding end of rope binding His hands. All stand before Pilate, wearing hat, with purse at his waist, seated, indicating Christ with left hand. Another man, wearing hat and with sheathed saber at waist, kneels on one knee beside Christ, looking up toward Pilate.
Initial on gold background and decorated with ornament of rinceaux.
