Left column:
Christ: Deposition --Christ, crossed nimbus, bleeding from wounds, eyes shut, wearing loincloth, is taken from cross with titulus INRI. Evangelist John, nimbed, grasps His right hand with both hands, left hand draped. Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, extends her right arm around His hips; Joseph of Arimathea extends draped hands toward Christ. Nicodemus, using pincers, removes nail attaching His feet to cross.Right column:
