Francis of Assisi: receiving Stigmata -- Francis, nimbed, tonsured, wearing Franciscan habit, with split in side, and sandals, kneels on one knee, hands raised. Hovering above, Christ, cross-nimbed, as six-winged seraph, is affixed with three nails to cross; red rays emitted from his wounds touch Francis, indicating wounds. Behind Francis is another monk, possibly Leo of Assissi, wearing hood, and with hands up sleeves, seated on ground. Scene in hilly landscape with church surmounted by cross, other buildings or city, towers, and body of water with island, all in background.
Margins decorated with floreate ornament including viola and strawberry, and inhabited by rabbit. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Pierre de Bosredont (quarterly, vair and gules).
