Anna, nimbed, wearing veil, sits and holds on her lap open book with pseudo inscription. Virgin Mary, nimbed, as child, stands before Anna and points with right hand to book (Virgin Mary: Infancy, Instruction). Scene in room with high-backed, carved wooden chair and double arched window.
In lower margin are looped cords connected to gold frame around text block.
