Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, with crossed rays as nimbus, wearing short loin cloth and crown of thorns, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI. To left of the cross is Evangelist John, with hands on shoulders of Virgin Mary, veiled, kneeling with joined hands raised, and Longinus, wearing hat, piercing side of Christ with spear. To right of cross is Stephaton, wearing armor, holding spear. In background are veiled woman, possibly Mary Magdalen, and armored soldiers with spears. Miniature framed by columns.
