Left column:
Christ: Entombment --Over open sarcophagus, either Joseph of Arimathea or Nicodemus holds, with draped hands, shoulders of Christ, crossed nimbus, eyes shut, body partially draped, bleeding from wounds in side and hands. The other man holds, with draped hands, feet of Christ. Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, hands crossed on breast stands next to the sarcophagus. Evangelist John, nimbed, stands next to her, his left hand on her left arm.Right column:
