Miniature, upper left: 1) Christ: Entry into Jerusalem -- Group of nimbed apostles (most with only nimbi visible), the foremost with joined hands raised, accompany Christ, cross-nimbed, raising right hand in blessing and with left hand holding reins or bridled ass, on which He is mounted; garment spread by male youth beneath hooves of the ass, all before another male youth in tree grasping flowering branch and city gate of Jerusalem. Miniature, lower left: 2) Jeremiah: lamenting -- Jeremiah, wearing pouch and knife tied to belt, raises left hand to face, behind crenellated wall; he is surrounded by building with windows and tower with portal. Miniature, upper right: 3) David: bringing Head of Goliath to Saul -- Crowned David, holding sword with left hand, grasps lock of hair from head of Goliath in right hand, before group of two female musicians, wearing snoods, one plays harp and one plays lute, accompanied by veiled figure (only head visible, Saul not present). Miniature, lower right: 4) Heliodorus: stricken -- Helmeted soldier raises scorge in right hand, is astride bridled and saddled horse, who tramples Heliodorus wearing armor, twisted on ground, above him, man raises scourges in both hands.
