Half-figure of Gall of Switzerland, nimbed, wearing hood, as Benedictine monk, holding book under left arm, within initial D decorated with foliate ornament.
In upper margin, medallion enclosing bust of king, crowned, surrounded by gold balls and flowers; in lower margin, medallion enclosing deer in landscape, flanked by two cocks amid flowers and gold balls. Medallions linked by red band decorated with gold scroll work.
Text is collect from first Vespers on 10.16 feast of Gall of Switzerland.
