Miniature, upper left: 1) Christ: Last Supper -- At draped round table, Christ, cross-nimbed, is seated at top, extending left hand to shoulder of Evangelist John, both flanked by eleven Apostles, ten nimbed, including Peter at His right hand. Judas, no nimbus, with small sack suspended on back, is opposite Christ, gesturing with his right arm. The Apostles sit on benches at the table, leaning on the table, with joined hands raised, or gesturing. On the table are loaves, cups, three knives, and platter of meat. Scene in room with tiled floor. Miniature, lower left: 2) Moses: Miracle of Manna -- Horned Moses, with joined hands raised, is accompanied by two men, one gesturing. At right, among three men, one raises bowl of manna, one collects manna in draped hands, and one partly kneels, holding manna in hands and collecting manna in basket on ground. Above all is cloud from which descends manna. Miniature, upper right: 3) Moses: Passover -- Four bearded Israelites, wearing hats, stand behind table, on which is sacrificial lamb. Scene in room with vaulted ceiling and tiled floor. Miniature, lower right: 4) Abraham: blessed by Melchisedek -- Melchisedek, wearing crown over miter and vestments, holds cross-inscribed round loaf with raised right hand and extends chalice to extended right hand of Abraham, wearing helmet with feather and full armor, and holding sword with left hand. In background, male attendant, wearing hat, holds bannered spear. Scene on path. Miniatures for Richel’s Spiegel der Menschlichen Behältnis (Basel: 1476) with biblical quotes, commentary and abbreviated extracts, in German, for Chapter 16 in the Speculum Humanae Salvationis.
