Boccaccio: Text, De Casibus Virorum Illustrium, Book 5 -- Three scenes in continuous narrative:
1) De Casibus Virorum Illustrium: Scene, Antiochus Hierax helped to escape -- Within castle, Antiochus, wearing crown and ermine-trimmed mantle, with purse at waist, holds right arm of courtesan, wearing headdress.
2) De Casibus Virorum Illustrium: Scene, Seleukos II Kallinikos Death -- Seleukos II Kallinikos, wearing crown, bleeding from head, lies fallen on ground beneath horse. Scene on road in landscape.
3) De Casibus Virorum Illustrium: Scene, Antiochus Hierax Death -- Antiochus, wearing crown and ermine-trimmed mantle, with purse at waist, astride horse, is flanked by two helmeted Galatian brigands, one holding sword and bridle of the horse, and the other stabbing sword into breast of Antiochus. In background is forest.
