Julius Caesar: Scene, Conquest of Gaul, Titus Silius and Quintus Velanius taken hostage -- Titus Silius and Quintus Velanius, both wearing brimmed hats, are surrounded by three men, the Veneti (Gauls), wearing brimmed or conical hats, two hold swords. Scene on path in grassy landscape with city gate with bridge over moat in background. Figures painted in grisaille. Decorated with ivy-rinceaux and floreate ornament in border above and below left column, including daisies and strawberries, miniature within gold frame. Initial Q of Quant decorated with foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature for Chapter 903 of Faits des Romains.
