Upper half: Abraham: entertaining the Angels (?) -- At left, three angels, all gesturing standing before Abraham, inscribed ABRAHAM, kneeling with joined hands raised. From chapter 18 of Genesis. Lot: barring Sodomites -- At right, two Sodomites, as soldiers wearing helmets, one holding sword and shield, one gesturing, both looking up at Lot, as face in window at top of tower. Three faces visible in windows above closed portal; at right two women, possibly daughters of Lot, one veiled with wimple, both gesturing. From chapter 19 of Genesis. Lower half: Abraham: Hagar sent away -- At left, Abraham, standing before building with open portal, raising right hand and looking toward Hagar, veiled with wimple, looking back at him and cradling infant Ishmael with both arms. Hagar and Ishmael: in Wilderness -- Appearing again, Hagar, veiled with wimple, grasping with right hand, raised left hand of Ishmael as boy, and looking up toward head of Christ-Logos appearing in cloud. Both scenes from chapter 21 of Genesis. Abraham: sacrificing Isaac -- At right, Isaac, carrying bundle of wood on right shoulder, looking up toward Abraham, wearing hood, carrying sword with right hand, gesturing with left toward fire on top of rocky outcrop.
