Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, crossed nimbus, with crown of thorns, carries cross on right shoulder. Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, is at left, holding with both hands, one arm of the cross. Man, wearing hat, grasps his own beard with right hand, top of cross with left hand, and raises left foot to kick Christ. In background are Holy Woman, nimbed, Evangelist John (?), nimbed and third person, only nimbus visible; four soldiers wearing helmets and armor, carring spears and halberds; three men wearing hats, one walking before Christ, looking back at Him, and grasping cross with left hand.
Scene in landscape with trees, rocky outcrops, and city or castle in background, all below blue sky with gold stars.
Margins decorated with border of foliate ornament and rinceaux.
