Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, holding scroll inscribed AVE GRATIA PLENA DOMINUS TECUM, kneels on one knee behind Virgin Mary, nimbed. With hands crossed on breast, she kneels at draped prie-dieu (?), looking back over her right shoulder toward Gabriel. Dove of Holy Ghost descends amid rays from arc of Heaven in upper left corner.
Background of gold vine scroll above dado in miniature. Miniature and text framed on three sides by rectilinear bars of gold decorated with red and blue sections of geometric or foliate ornament. Margins decorated with a border of vine scroll.
