Virgin Mary, nimbed, holds gold palm in left hand and with right hand supports Christ Child, nude, cross-nimbed with rays, His right hand raised in blessing. The Virgin transfixes and tramples devil in guise of dragon, flanked on either side by 16 kneeling, or partly kneeling, men and women (pilgrims), some with heads covered, four with joined hands raised, all on path in landscape. In background, castle and landscape. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended from tree branch over path with two arbors and foliage in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
