Shepherds: Annunciation -- Shepherd, with hat on cord around neck, holding staff in both hands, looks up toward half-figure of angel, nimbed, holding scroll inscribed GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO. To right is woman, holding bowl in lap, spilling contents of spoon held in right hand. Around the shepherd and the woman are seven sheep, laying in grass, and dog, seated, with head raised toward the angel. In background are lake, hills, distant city, and sky with stars.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux, floreate, and vinescroll ornament. Baguettes with floreate patterns in left, lower, and right margins, with interlace at corners. In lozenge in right margin is blue flower. In lower margin are rooster (cock) and hen.
