Upper half: Pilate: washing Hands -- At left, Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing long robe, with wrists bound with rope, is grasped from behind by at least two of five soldiers, wearing helmets, all before Pilate, crowned, seated on throne of the canopy type, with both hands over basin held by male attendant at far right. Christ: Flagellation -- At right, Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing long loin cloth, body covered in sores, is bound to column in room by wrists and legs, the lower rope pulled by one of three tormentors, the other two raising scourge and withes. Lower half: Christ: crowned with Thorns -- At left, Christ, wrists possibly bound, sitting on bench beneath canopy, with crown of thorns pressed down on His head with stick held by one of flanking two men, one wearing helmet, another, wearing Jew’s hat, partly kneeling in foreground. Christ: Crucifixion, stripped of Garments -- At right, Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing long loin cloth, body covered in sores, has garment pulled off His arms by tormentor, before three helmeted soldiers, two holdind shields and spears and one holding halberd, and Pilate, crowned, with right hand raised and with left hand holding scepter.
