Pilate: washing Hands, and Christ: before Pilate -- Pilate, wearing hat and armor, seated on throne beneath conical canopy, washes hands in water poured from pitcher into basin by servant, wearing armor, standing to right of Pilate. Before Pilate stands Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing crown of thorns, with hands bound, flanked by two of a large group of soldiers wearing armor and helmets, holding spears. Scene in interior.
Floreate margins inhabited by dog and fantastic animal in lower margin.
