Zone 1:
1) David: reinstated with Saul -- Saul, crowned, sits with legs crossed on throne with footstool, holds fleur-de-lis scepter in left hand, and with right points to David kneeling, with left hand of Jonathan on his shoulder. Illustration of I Samuel 19:7.
2) David: Battle against Philistines -- David, in mail, wearing visor, mounted on heraldic-decorated caparisoned horse, holds shield decorated with rosettes in left hand. With lance in right hand, he pierces chest of Philistine, in mail, with scabbard at waist, falling from horse. Mounted soldiers, in mail, wearing visors and helmets, engage in combat with swords and heraldic shields, bannered lances, and axe; some are fallen. Illustration of I Samuel 19:8.
Zone 2:
1) Saul: hurling Javelin at David -- Green winged horned devil descends toward head of Saul, crowned, seated on bench with footstool, directing javelin at David, kneeling, with right hand raised and harp in left hand. Illustration of I Samuel 19:10.
2) David: Messengers from Saul (Saul sending Messengers) -- Saul, crowned, sits under canopy on throne with footstool, with fleur-de-lis scepter in left hand. He extends right hand toward five soldiers in mail. Some are armed with swords, axe and spears. Illustration of I Samuel 19:11.
