John of Lycopolis: Scene, prophesying Victory of Theodosius -- At left, group of helmeted soldiers, at least three mounted on horses and holding decorated shields, raise swords and pierce two soldiers, bleeding from wounds, another soldier, sword and helmet trampled by the horses.
At right, among five kneeling soldiers, wearing helmets and full armor, the foremost soldier with arms crossed on breast, all before John of Lycopolis, nimbed, wearing cap and monk’s habit, with right hand raised in blessing.
