Two scenes within miniature:
1) Secundus of Asti: Torture -- Secundus of Asti and Calocerus of Brescia, both nimbed, wearing priest's vestments, kneel with joined hands at breasts. Tormentor, standing beside cauldron of boiling tar, pours tar into one saint's mouth with ladle.
2) Secundus of Asti: Martyrdom -- To right, with two male figures, Sapritius of Asti, wearing pointed hat, holding staff in right hand, points with left hand to Secundus of Asti (represented twice), nimbed, head inclined, kneeling with joined hands raised to breast. Executioner raises sword above his head.
