Psalm 039 (Vulg., 038) -- David, crowned, kneels on one knee, beside harp, extends his hands and looks up at soldier (personification of war), wearing armor and holding spear in left hand, and skeleton (personification of pestilence), partially draped, holding spear in left hand, both in sky.
Scene in landscape setting, within architectural frame.
Margin is decorated with foliate border, including cornflowers, roses, and daisies, inhabited by moth and fantastic animal.
