John Baptist: in Prison -- In left column, jailer wearing headgear, holding with right hand, rod to which keys are tied, wearing sword at waist, walks behind John Baptist, nimbed, entering doorway of building.
Herod Antipas: Feast -- In right column, Herod Antipas, crowned, gesturing with both hands, is behind draped trestle table on which are knives, covered jars, loaves, and bowl containing bird. He looks toward Herodias, crowned, gesturing with right hand toward Salome standing at end of table, both hands extended, looking toward Herod. Two musicians playing shawms stand behind her. Four men, two wearing hats stand at other end of the table.
