Maccabees: Letter from Jews -- Maccabee, decorated nimbus, seated on cushioned bench, extends right hand with scroll to man wearing hood holding the scroll with right hand, gesturing with left. All within initial F at beginning of II Maccabees.
Lower margin decorated with decorated foliate vine, inhabited by hybrid animal with dog head and wings; head or mask of bull; man wearing hat with tall feather, holding object with draped hands; nude man wearing flat hat, holding small round shield (buckler) with right hand, raising left hand; displayed eagle.
