Francis of Assisi: receiving Stigmata -- Within initial D, Francis, nimbed and tonsured, wounds visible in hands and side, in landscape looking upward toward rays descending from Christ, nimbed, arms extended, wearing loin cloth, as six-winged seraph, appearing in vignette in upper left margin.
In upper margin, vignette enclosing addorsed ram and she-goat sitting in landscape. In lower margin, half-figure of Franciscan monk, tonsured, possibly Leo of Assisi, looking upward toward Francis. Medallion and vignette linked by red band decorated with pieces of armor including helmet, shields, and maces, and by tambourine (?), head of seraph surrounded by six wings, drum and two recorders.
