At the top a plaque framed in gold bears the inscription, AD SERVANDUM IN GENERATIONES VESTRAS. The scene enfolds as if a tapestry with two Israelites putting manna into a golden vase in the foreground of a desert encampment of tents and their inhabitants. Below there is a quatrain. The frame consists of bands of burnished and dull gold.
