At right, Joseph the Carpenter and Prophetess Anna, wearing hat and veil, stand behind Virgin Mary, extending hands toward the Christ Child. Scene in room decorated with curtain, within architectural frame.
Lower vignette:
Samuel: Circumcision -- Two men and a woman, wearing hats, stand behind Hannah, wearing headdress, supporting nude infant Samuel on altar. At right, mohel, wearing hat, circumcises Samuel with knife held in left hand. Scene in room decorated with curtain, within architectural frame.
