Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, wearing cope, holding scepter in left hand, kneels before Virgin Mary, nimbed, seated with open book with pseudo-inscription in her lap, with hands crossed on her breast (Virgin of Humility). Dove of Holy Ghost, nimbed, in mandorla, emanating rays, hovers between Gabriel and Virgin Mary. Scene in room with carved doorways, wooden floor, and draped cabinet and canopied bed visible through doorways.
Margins with scattered flower border, with roses, columbine, and viola, inhabited by insects, including beetle, butterfly, and snail.
Escutcheon with arms of Jean Carondelet (azure a fasce and six bezants or en orle, an archiepiscopal cross in pale beneath the shield), with the initials IC, and the motto MATURA.
