Abraham: sacrificing Isaac (Genesis 22:5-6) -- Abraham, wearing hat, extends left hand to head of Isaac, with joined hands raised, kneeling before altar on which are six golden twigs. The Abraham looks back toward flying angel staying sword in his raised right hand. Interior scene of room with brick walls and tiled floor, arched portal with view of landscape in background. Figures painted in grisaille. Margins decorated with floreate and foliate border above and below right column, including daisies, miniature within gold frame. Initial Q of Quant decorated with heraldry of the Créquy family (or, wild plum gules).
