Upper half: Abraham: sacrificing Isaac -- At left, angel emerging from cloud, indicating with right hand, ram tangled in bush and grasping with left hand blade of sword raised in right hand of Abraham, inscribed ABRAHAM. His left hand grasping hair on head of Isaac, with joined hands, kneeling on top of rocky outcrop. From chapter 22 of Genesis. Lot: Departure from Sodom -- At right, buildings of Sodom behind woman, veiled with wimple, raising right hand, looking back at Sodom, with three men, the foremost, Lot, raising right hand, left hand grasped by right hand of angel, nimbed, indicating forward with left hand. From chapter 19 of Genesis. Lower half: Lot: Wife turned to Salt -- At left, head of Lot’s wife, veiled with wimple, surmounting pillar of salt flanked by goat, licking the pillar, and by sheep, both standing on hind legs with front legs on the pillar. Lot: deceived by Daughters -- Lot, hat inscribed LOTH, behind draped trestle table, raising right hand toward glass held by foremost of two daughters, the other holding pitcher. Lot: deceived by Daughters -- At right, Lot, head on pillow, reclining in draped bed, next to one daughter, the other standing next to the bed gesturing. All three scenes from chapter 19 of Genesis.
