Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Bactria -- To left, in field, man, wearing hat, with left hand gathers apron in which is grain, sowing with right hand. In background, woman, wearing turban-like headdress, and man, wearing hat, are astride bridled one-humped camels (dromedaries). To right of rock and trees, stand two one-humped camels (dromedaries), a third bridled dromedary is mounted by man, wearing hat, with left hand holding reins and with right hand raising stick. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and city in background. Initial B of Bactria decorated with foliate ornament. Miniature for Livre de Merveilles du Monde for Bactria (Afghanistan).
