John XXII, inscribed DOMINUS JACOBUS DE CATURCO QUI ET JOHANNES PAPA, wearing triple-crowned papal tiara, holds hilt of sword in mouth, with right hand holding plant or flame (?), and with left hand holding key surmounted by dove. At his feet is Lamb of God holding cross-inscribed banner in right forepaw. To right, hybrid bishop, wearing miter, with lower body of serpent, raises hands toward the pope. Below text, motto of Pope John XXII, CONTRA COLUMBA HEC YMAGO TURPISSIMA CLERICORUM PUGNABIT. Folio numbered "Nonus" at upper margin.
