Initial E enclosing tonsured cleric, emitting rays, seated on bench with right hand extended to round table on which is open book with pseudo-inscriptions. Decorated initial for First Lesson based on Isaiah 49:14. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration inhabited by half figures of man (the other damaged) possibly man, both flanking woman, wearing headdress, gesturing; seated monkey holding mirror (upper right) and lamb-like animal (lower right); bust of bearded man, amid foliage (lower).
